Avra Valley Solar is located on 300 acres of agricultural land outside 20 miles west of Tucson. The site provides power to 20,000 homes annually. Two things need to be kept in mind when designing and installing a security solution for an energy site: NERC compliance and federal and state regulations. AISG has been providing industry knowledge for years. With their in-house design and engineering team, AISG provided a complete perimeter protection solution. Solar-powered perimeter intrusion detection poles with cameras have been installed around the perimeter. Fiber communication has been installed to provide a wired connection to the cameras. Access control has been installed At all entrances to monitor who is entering and exiting the site, monitored by AISG’s 24/7 central station. Remote sites, such as this one, are targets for cyber and physical attacks, not Avra Valley Solar.
